The Grove

Back twenty years ago we learned from Spokane architect Glenn Davis to put shadow lines on a project in areas where there was an obvious joint or transition.

When done correctly, these ‘grooves’ or lines can add a nice flare or architectural element to make a project interesting.   Take this shelving unit shown below. The lines or ‘groove’ perfectly follows level to other elements in the room such as a bench or a bookcase on other walls.

With careful and precise planning, these little subtleties make the difference between average work and great work. Thanks Glenn!
