Protect Your Cabinets: The Ultimate Solution for Kitchen and Bath Sink Spills
Do you keep all kinds of bottles under your kitchen sink? Or bath sink? We do—in fact, sometimes it gets full. How often do you clean it? No, don’t ask.
Whenever we do clean it, sure enough, there is a petrified bottle of Mr. Clean or Jet dishwasher soap that has fallen over years ago and made a mess. Here at HC, our cabinets are all made from maple plywood, not pressed particle board
The finish we put on them is very good. But no finish will stand up to a bottle of Jet leaking. This spill leaves a nasty stain, and if enough spills, it can cause the wood to rot. Here is a neat solution we have started doing more of: I call it a pimple mat.
This floor protector will hold 1 gallon of water per 6 square feet without leaking. Wow—that’s a lot of Mr. Clean tipped over. It comes in black, white, gray, maple, and stainless. The product comes from Hafele and is made of polystyrene. We cut it on a table saw to fit the bottom of the cabinet, as it is heavy-duty. The cost of material is about $85 per sheet
